I got to play on Katie’s St. Patrick’s album this fall and I’ve played her St. Patrick’s themed show for a couple years in a row. We’ll be releasing the album in April. The Celtic material on the album is both traditional and modern compositions, including a new favorite for me, simply called “The Reel.”

Uncommon Ground
Chicago, IL – Map
I play for your tips at my favorite venue to play, so far, in Chicago. They have a nice separate listening room in the back. And they serve good food. To reserve a seat at a table, you must agree to spend $20 on food and drink, as I understand it. Otherwise you can stand.

I’m playing a tune or two with Ben, including “Coffee Would Be Great,” which is inspired by a favorite coffee spot of mine (and his) The Spyhouse…

Orange Mighty Trio
City of Lakes Waldorf School Holiday Fair
Minneapolis, MN – Map
This is a free event, where a portion of sales of Holiday things (and also our recording) will benefit the school. There are always some great handmade things and probably some gnomes. There is also an elaborate gnome cave (I’ve seen it in the past and it’s impressive) where young visitors can meet the gnome and receive a gem.

Heartland Cafe
Chicago, IL – Map
No cover. You can eat while I play at the venerable Heartland Cafe in Roger’s Park. As their website says they are a place “where the man-woman-child conscious of their body would come for periodic nourishment…getting into that basic, whole, good tasting food…prepared with care…”
