Song Blog 9: Thoughts Getting Clearer
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008I am writing these status songs in about 1 hour or less, a sketch, if you will. (Also, not everything is worked to perfection.) Here’s one called “Thoughts Getting Clearer.”

A lot of people have been a little sick recently, including me.
Download a new tune, reflecting my current status…
This is a favorite tune of mine, which I taught to Mike and Nick. Some play in major. We play it in minor, for more “spooky” hen adventures. We’ll leave it up to your imagination. This was recorded last year at the Hosmer Library, where we were fortunate enough to play again this year.
The recording is courtesy of Dan Rein and friend. (Thanks!)
Katie’s recording features this very cool tune. It’s a modern celtic-style composition which Katie got from a band she’s toured with called Secret Garden. When I first learned this tune from Katie, I thought the title was a pun– spelled “The Real.” We recorded this one and many other cool tracks, when we did her new record last fall. Note the Octave Violin presence mixed in there.
Here’s an early recording from rehearsal at Mike’s house. We used it on our first Demo CD, which we used for bookings before we had a “proper recording.” We made with the handy iTalk adapter, that lets you record onto your iPod.
Technically, it’s an improvised modal piece.
