But all of that fades to the background at some point, because nothing really matters except for CREATING A FEELING. That is our task. Matching music to picture is, I feel, a magical process and you don't always know what is going to work until you discover it and it clicks.

ORIGIN STORY

I started out focusing on performing and on writing music for myself to play. Somewhere along the way, I got the opportunity to do some music for film, and fell in love with putting the two together. I began to work with indie filmmakers and started doing some freelance advertising work. I even composed and performed a score live with my band for a film and music festival. Eventually, I got the idea that I could create my own collection for licensing, a gathering place for what I have to offer.

THE SOUND OF THE MUSIC

Much of the music you’ll find here might loosely be called classical. Some is intricate and some is on the sparser side, some of it intimate with a few players and some has an expansive string orchestra sound. I love hypnotic and minimalist sounds that are modern yet also warm, and I find that strings can do this well. I also love fiddle and folk styles, so calling down some Americana, blues, or Classical-folk crossover is also natural.
